New Neighbours – Differences That Unite Us

Event for the integration of Polish and Ukrainian cultures

The event takes the format of a discussion, during which we will discuss together cultural differences, stereotypes and the integration challenges. We will lead a conversation between a mental health expert, people with refugee experience and an influencer, encouraging participants to reflect and interact with each other, allowing for an exchange of views and experiences.

The events will begin at 18:30 with a greeting of the participants by the moderator – well-known influencer psychologist Michalina Tańska, who will present the purpose and program of the meeting. The mental health expert will then present current challenges and the latest research on the mental health of war refugees. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the psychological aspects of migration and integration.

Equally important participants in the event are war refugees from Ukraine, who will share personal stories and their experiences of life in Poland. These stories will include daily challenges, successes and ways of coping in a new country, which will allow participants to better understand the realities of refugee life.

During the discussion, a Q&A session is anticipated , where participants will be able to ask questions of the speakers and share their thoughts. This interactive part of the event will provide a deeper understanding of the topics covered and allow participants to actively engage in the discussion.

At the end of the event, there will be a summary of key conclusions and opportunities for further support and involvement in integration projects.

The entire event will be held online on the Teams platform, allowing people from all over the world to participate and access the materials after the meeting. An interactive form of participation will be provided for participants, allowing them to actively participate in the discussion through live chat.

This event is part of the European project INSPIRE which aims to promote education about mental health and to show the power of art in this field. Together with our partners from the Czech Republic – Nedomysleno and L’Artre Festival – we are organising a series of workshops on mental health.
